Acacia Villa - Travel Info

Travel to your vacation villa in Providenciales is a short flight from North America. You could be relaxing at your holiday villa, lying by the pool or walking on one of the world’s best white sand beaches by early afternoon.

AIRLINES
American Airlines offers jet service several times daily from Miami Florida. They offer flights from JFK Airport and Boston. US Airways arrives daily from Charlotte NC. Delta offers daily flights from Atlanta. British Airways arrives on Sundays from Heathrow. Spirit Air arrives from Ft Lauderdale Florida. Bahamas Air offer flights several days a week from Nassau. The schedule is constantly changing so please check with your travel agent.

IMMIGRATION/ENTRY
Visitors from North America require a valid passport. An onward or return ticket is also required..

CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
After collecting luggage at Providenciales International Airport most visitors carrying “personal use only” items may proceed through the “Nothing to Declare” lines.

CLIMATE
Constant easterly breezes keep life comfortable, with the winter months averaging in the 70s and the late summer months averaging in the low 90s. An average annual rainfall of 40 inches assures us plenty of sunny days.

DRESS
Casual, comfortable resort and leisure wear is acceptable everywhere, with just a few restaurants requiring “proper attire” which would include a shirt with collar and pants for the men. You could need a light sweater on a cool winter evening.

Don’t pack too many clothes or shoes. During your vacation at Acacia Villa you could ‘live’ in a swimsuit. It is recommended to leave expensive watches and jewelry at home.

Luggage is sometimes “lost” for a day or two, it would be wise to bring a change of clothes and daily necessities in your carry-on bag.

CREDIT CARDS
Currency is the US dollar. Visa or MasterCard and travellers checks are widely accepted. ATM machines are available. Some foreign currencies can be exchanged at the banks.

AUTO RENTAL
A rental car is recommended for persons staying at Acacia Villa in order to explore our island and do a little shopping. The collective cost of taxi fares for dining out on several evenings would most likely exceed your auto rental fee. We drive on the left but you’ll get the hang of it right away!

TAXI FARES
The basic cab fare is an initial $3. and $2. per mile for two persons. A surcharge is added for additional persons. Gratuities are appreciated for friendly service. Some average fares for two persons, each way:
Acacia Villa to the Airport $22.00
Acacia Villa to Turtle Cove 16.00
Acacia Villa to Coyaba 15.00
Acacia Villa to IGA Graceway 14.00
Acacia Villa to The Saltmills 10.00

MEDICAL
Several private clinics are well staffed to quickly address any minor ailments you may encounter. Full service pharmacies are well stocked. It is recommended that you bring prescriptions in your carry-on bag to avoid loss. Emergency conditions are stabilized and patients transferred by air-ambulance to Florida.

DEPARTURE TAX
An airport tax of $30 is levied on persons over 2 years of age. This is now included in your ticket price.
