ACACIA VILLA GUEST BOOK COMMENTS February 9th - 18th 2008

Another wonderful vacation at Acacia Villa! This year we had dinner at Pizza Pizza, Bay Bistro and Coyaba. We would recommend all of them. The weather was great and it sure was relaxing around the beautiful pool. We want to thank both of you for being such wonderful hosts. You are always there for us when we need advise or just something we need in the villa. We enjoyed seeing Merlin and JJ again. See you next year.

Sue and Mike - San Angelo Texas

January 26th - February 6th 2008

Our English is not so good so I will write in German... Got married on January 30th. We have found our dream island! Thank you for the wunderbar villa! We will come back.

Angela and Toni, Germany

January 19th - 26th 2008

Vallhala... Xanadu... Acacia... Whatever you call it, this place is paradise! The picturesque beauty is beyond compare; with each new view upping the ‘ante’ on the previous. We made a sport out of Restaurant tasting and found several favorites. Top of the list is Coyaba.

Our favorite day spent was while on a private charter with J & B Tours. We started at 9am and returned at 5pm. Our captain Kevin, began the trip by diving for fresh lobster which he grilled for our lunch. He also dove for Conch and made ceviche. (fresh conch salad) We spent the day laying on a private beach at Parrot Cay, fished for grouper and snorkeled the reef, while finishing at Iguana Island. Its impossible to think that tomorrow could possibly follow today after such perfection.

The villa is delightful and we would only make a few recommendations to make it perfect. 1) More comfortable beds - they are entirely too hard and a little small. 2) Longer sofa in living room - for those nights when your bed partner is snoring too loud! 3) A Hammock.

Thank you for sharing your corner of the world. We hope with God’s great blessing that we will be able to return and relive our best vacation ever.

Kit & Steve - Petersburg VA

January 12th 2008

We had a great week, the weather was perfect, the villa was all that we expected it to be, very tastefully decorated. The beach chairs and coolers were perfect for our excursions to the beach.

Thanks so much - Ann and Wayne - New Lowell Ontario Canada

December 29th 2007 - January 5th 2008

Thank you for a fabulous week! The dining was "awesome" irregardless of which restaurant or cafe we attended. The Villa was perfectly charming - you thought of things we didn't know we needed. Excursions to the beach, visiting the Iguanas, shopping and touring the island - everything was delightful. We appreciated relaxing by the pool, reading and afternoon naps. How spoiled! We shall miss it all. Thanks for everything - most of all "your friendship".

November 7 - 14, 2007

There is only one word for this place & it’s gracious owners...Awesome! My husband & I enjoyed our stay in Turks & Caicos so much the first time around we decided to come back again. We were married on the 6th of November & came here for our honeymoon. The owners were very attentive & we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to both of them for everything they did for us. We will highly recommend their villa to everyone we meet.

Gary & Margo - Gold Beach, Oregon

PS Thanks for sharing the article & brochure on genealogy with me.

August 26 - September 2 2007

Our honeymoon was narrowed down to two choices. Obviously we chose Turks and Caicos. This was by far the right choice. First I have to say the host & hostess were very personable and attentive to our needs. They were kind and helpful at all times. This was our first trip to Turks and Caicos and it is beautiful. A great week of R & R, and the food is exceptional. I recommend Coco Bistro and Mango Reef Restaurant for great food. Thank you for everything.

Kevin & Latoya - Brooklyn, New York

August 3-10 2007

Our first trip to Turks & Caicos, we usually go to the Caymans. The villa is beautiful and has everything you’d need and is very well maintained. A very relaxing week, just what we needed. The scuba diving & snorkeling was great! Great food and a great time. Sorry we only had a week to enjoy it. Thank you.

Sincerely - Rex & Robin - Wilmington Ohio

July 21 - 31 2007

Had a lovely relaxing week in a very homey, well appointed villa. Enjoyed the beaches, reefs, Jo Jo the dolphin. Great restaurants & friendly people everywhere. Many, many thanks. All the best.

John, Wendy & Katie & Mark - Bermuda

May 6 - 13, 2007

What a perfectly appointed house. We loved it and couldn’t ask for a better honeymoon - the perfect combination of privacy and convenience to restaurants, beach, etc. Thank you for your hospitality. We plan on spending our anniversary here each year. Thank you also for the AC on our last night - we appreciate the cool end to hot honeymoon.

Sincerely - Melanie & Jacqueline - White Plains, NY

April 20, 2007

Wherever we travel, we rent cottages and villas and eschew hotels. The Acacia is far and away the most comfortable and nicely equipped in our renting history.

We were, however, disappointed at being awakened by construction noise at 6am and barking dogs every night.

Da Conch Shack for local flavour and excellent conch fritters is a must. Sharkbite, fabulous waterfront (marina) dining. Seaside Cafe for the best tuna anywhere.

Nine kilometer walks on the beach every morning got the days off to a wonderful start.

Great time! Heather and Ron, Toronto - Margaret, Chicago

April 12, 2007

Thank you for a wonderful villa - your attention to detail made our stay very easy. Our goal was relaxation & sun, we weren't disappointed.

Dining choices were excellent - 1st pick - Coyaba, great food exceptional service. Close 2nd - Coco Bistro.

It was a great week, enjoyed a few sites - Conch Farm, The Hole, Chalk Sound. Good friends, good memories.

Bill and Cindy, Grand Island NE

April 12, 2007

Our first trip to the Turks & Caicos, couldn't have chosen a more beautiful villa. Gracious host & hostess - made our stay easy - condo is so well appointed. We were without nothng.

Great recommendations for dining out "Coyaba" was exceptional; service, food and WINE! We did venture out and enjoyed the beach, Chalk Sound, Conch Farm. Spent many hours enjoying the pool and sun. Did make it to Pulse Gym. Hope that will offset the food and drink. Hate to leave. :.( Thanks for the memories. :.)

Ditto to everything Cindy said above. Russ and Sheree, Grand Island NE

April 3, 2007

Villa is great!

We have made many trips to various islands over the years and this was the best accommodations we’ve had. Diving was fantastic. Ended up going out 4 times provo Turtle Divers - highly recommend them. Best bargain - rotisserie chickens at the IGA - just $6.99 & makes a great lunch. Great bar/restaurant - Bonnie’s had good fish & chips & local flavor. Danny Buoy’s was also good. Excellent dinner at Caicos Cafe.

Lynn & Tom Ocean City, MD

March 24 , 2007

We had a rough start to our vacation - rain - rain - rain, 4 days of it. When it finally cleared, it was a beautiful place. Our villa was spotless and had everything we needed and the location was perfect for dining out. Our best choices for restaurants were Coco Bistro - beautiful palms and Coyaba - great food! The best part of our time here was at the pool. We enjoyed taking a dip after time on the beach. This was truly a great choice for a vacation!

Jack, Carol & Colin Pittsburgh, PA

February 23, 2007

OK, we are all packed for our departure tomorrow morning but it is really hard to leave after 4 weeks in paradise. Villa Acacia now feels like our home away from home and we are already looking forward to March 2008. Chuck and Brenda, you are the perfect hosts and thank you for your hospitality, and DVD’s and books! We found everything we needed and much more in the villa. Many hours were spent enjoying the patio and pool and the beach at Pelican Point was perfect for our morning walks. We enjoyed many evenings dining out and had great meals everytime...Hemingways, Baci (lobster to die for), Tiki Hut, Caicos Cafe, Mango Reef, Gilley’s, Barefoot Cafe and of course Pizza Pizza. Thanks for recommending the Gecko Grille for a rainy evening. We loved it and don’t know how we have missed trying it on our trips to Provo. Our son and daughter-in-law were able to join us for 2 weeks so it really was a perfect vacation and we are hoping they will join us again next year. They said Danny Buoy’s was quite an experience on St. Patrick’s Day. Thank you again and we’ll see you next year. We look forward to seeing Merlin, J.J. and Bruce again.

What a super vacation!

After 5 straight years of vacationing on Turks & Caicos Islands we
finally found our home away from home. The villa is very attractive,
comfortable, well furnished, in a quiet neighborhood. The pool and
patio area are beautiful. We sure enjoyed having meals on the patio
and using the Barbeque.

We want to thank both of you for picking us up at the airport,
stopping at the IGA and always being there for us if we needed
anything. You are super hosts!!

P.S. We enjoyed Merlin and JJ

January 17, 2007

The best holiday ever!

The villa - words cannot express how perfect it is! Didn’t need
anything else. Loved the barbeques!
Saw the whole Island! “The Hole”, Malcolm’s Beach (don’t tell your
car rental guy!) is a must! Snorkeling was great! Saw turtles, sting
ray & fish (Corel Reef). Saw a small shark at Turtle Cove as well as
a squid!
Eating out was great - we did eat out most lunches - supper at the
villa.
Sail Provo - day excursion was awesome!! Excursion to Middle Caicos
to see the caves - fantastic! Warning - caves are hot! Not cold as
one would think. Conch Farm - nice tour - short but good. Cheshire
Hall ruins also very good. Taylor Beach - stillest cove I’ve ever
seen! Couldn’t find pirate’s writing on the rocks. Conch Shack - nice
for sitting & watching the ocean. Got some great shells - everywhere!
Turks & Caicos we love you!
Thanks!!!

A holiday to remember in Provo in beautiful Turks & Caicos.

This was a last minute trip we decided to take. It ended up being a
great decision! We were able to find an amazing villa - Villa Acacia
online and thank God for a last minute cancellation - we were able to
finalize air & villa stay. Our experience at Villa Acacia & on the
island was outstanding. And of course adventurous at the same time!
We balanced our trip out by cooking at home, using the fantastic
grill and looking up at thye stars (and full moon 1/3) - listening to
island music and dining at some restaurants including Da Conch Shack
(great!), Magnolia (wonderful ambience, good service & yummy food),
Sharkbite, Gilley’s, Hemingways, Tiki Hut, Grace’s Cottage & Coyaba.
All the
food on the island - pretty much tasty (lots of fried food) and very,
very good!

We loved the pool! The canal was even fun to swim in and was nice
doing yoga on the dock!

The villa was truly perfect for our group (ages 30-40). We are an
independent bunch that likes to be removed from hotel traffic. This
villa had everything! I could not believe how well appointed the
villa was - you can only read so much online and prepare. Very well
designed - loved laundry machine. So yes, our expectations are high
and this villa exceeded our expectations. We were so happy with our
stay! We stayed 2 extra days!

We really enjoyed our trip. None of us has taken a vacation in years
and all of us overworked in Los Angeles/New York

This was well worth it - every penny.

Thank you!
Sincerely,
Caroline, David, Michelle & Kerry

P.S. One more thing, here’s a list of great excursions - all were
great!
* Snorkeled (free) at Bight’s Reef & Smiths Reef.
Bight’s has more sealife - but both are great - we bought our own
gear & went almost everyday.
* Snorkel & Conch Cruisewith Caicos Dream Tours
($90 approx./person) - perfect on a beautiful day!
* Bottom fishing w/ J & B Tours - $650 + $10 license. We caught
grouper, yellowtail snapper, trigger fish, porgi - cooked on our
grill & had for dinner.
* Drive to Chalk Sound - amazing! Also great photo opps.
* Danny Buoy’s - local bar (fun!!!)
* Smoke a Cuban Cigar (outside) ($30 each) - can’t do this in the
States.
* Beaches are beautiful to explore - we definitely found our share of
“Secret Spots”!

December 27, 2006

The villa is amazing.

We enjoyed our stay and really do not want to
leave. Most definitely a place to come back to. We felt right at home
here, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay from day one. The
landscaping is beautiful and provided us with our own private
tropical paradise. We love to cook and the kitchen was very
accomodating. Had some wonderful meals at the places
recommended. Coco Bistro is fabulous. We had a great time snorkeling,
exploring the island and just relaxing around the villa. The laid
back atmosphere here is wonderful, makes us want to move here. Maybe
I have to start looking for a job. All in all it was a wonderful
trip. So a toast over one last glass of champagne...
To fun filled days
And great island nights
Exceptional cuisine
And beautiful sights
The soft rustle of the trees
The star filled sky
All the wonderful things
That make it hard to say goodbye
So thanks to Chuck and Brenda
And the use of their beautiful home
A fabulous vacation
Where our dreams will always roam

P.S. The fish & chips at Gilley’s is a must.

Great Villa!

Attractive, convenient, comfortable, well-stocked,
beautiful pool and patio area. We appreciated the beach chairs and
umbrellas.
I loved Coco Bistro
Enjoyed our stay.

March 27, 2006

Thank you for your hospitality & the pleasure of staying at this
beautiful house! We wanted for nothing!

My husband & I would love to come back, so we’ll be in touch again.
Your recommendation for the Sushi restaurant was excellent. We had an
awesome meal at Coco Bistro & Iguana’s was great.

This was a short memorable trip for us. Thanks again for the use of
the villa & for taking such good care of us.

We left home just in time to mess a huge snowstorm. So despite the
few rainy days we had here in Turks & Caicos we thoughly enjoyed our
stay. This villa is perfect! It has everything you could possibly
need or want. Thanks very much to you both foe seemingly thinking of
everything!

We enjoyed the many restaurants - Coco Bistro, Iguana, Bella
Luna, Aqua, Tiki Hut. All very good in their own right. Also enjoyed
cooking on the grill and eating outside by the pool.

Great snorkeling at Coral Gardens and Smith’s Reef. Rental at Dive
Provo was relatively inexpensive and quite easy to do.

All in all - an excellent trip and a beautiful villa!

Much appreciation

a fantastic villa! There was nothing we wanted for. Great job!

January 31, 2006

We had no idea where Turks & Caicos was (or is it ‘were’) until a
year ago when we won free airfare. After investigating online for
locations, places, we came across this villa.
And we couldn’t have been happier with our choice, as the villa is
better than advertised.

Although our trip was delayed by a day thanks to a Noreaster, we
settled in nicely.

The marina is a short walk away. Gilley’s is a good place for a
relaxed lunch. Sail Provo was a fantastic time: snorkeling, Iguana
Island & sailing into the sunset to the strains of “Barry White”.

We ate at Hemingways, which we found overpriced, and Coco Bistro,
which was the best - great food, atmosphere, and killer desserts.

If you want to snorkel from the shore, you can rent the equipment for
$10 ($15 for prescription goggles for me) at Ports of Call, and then
explore at Coral Gardens.

Also check out the beaches close to the villa; quiet, serene, and
shells galore.

For relaxation we treated ourselves to massages by the poolside,
courtesy of Spa Tropique. Affordable and soothing.

Special thanks for the hospitality and the personal
touches at the villa.

Feel free to check out our photos at www.tradermike.com

Enjoy!

We had a lovely, relaxing time here at the Acacia Villa. Very
reviving! Explored the entire Island. What the road removes the views
renew - go and you’ll know.

What a beautiful villa you have. We enjoyed evenings
by the pool - so very lovely. A perfect retreat for couples - great
weather, great accomodations, great friends.

Coyaba was fantastic! Iguana was great. Coco Bistro was great too.
Would recommend all three.

As former home owners in Provo we realize how difficult it is to build and maintain a home here. You have done a magnificent job! We enjoyed walking on the beach, playing golf and just chilling by the pool. Thank you for all your kindness during our stay. We especially loved your landscaping.

October 29, 2005

With best of friends, great villa, and great weather. Not so great fishing but great days out on the water none the less. Enjoyed Ocean Club area, Hemingways Restaurant, great grouper sandwiches at Gilley’s. We explored north, south, east and west and find the Leeward area to be the very best. The Island beaches are the best we have enjoyed and we have seen several on other Caribbean islands. Thank you for having such a great place for us to enjoy.

October 20, 2005

This was our first visit to these beautiful islands of the Turks & Caicos and we were not disappointed. The Acacia Villa was everthing we had hoped for. It was peaceful, romantic & restful. The kitchen is so well equipped. Cooking in and eating our evening meal by the pool was our choice most evenings. We ventured out to eat on 2 occasions only. The first time we went to Anacaona and don’t recommend it at all. We found it overpriced and the meals we prepared here at the villa were so much better & imaginative. The second time we ate out we went to the Tiki Hut at Turtle Cove & were fortunate to make it back here at all. That evening Provo experienced a most awesome storm such as locals can’t recall. We had to leave our car at Turtle Cove as the roads were completed flooded. The thunder & lightning was breathtaking & scary. We found out the following day that apparently a small tornado touched down at Turtle Cove & did some minor damage. We managed to hitch rides & walk through thigh deep water, but we eventually were able to make our way back here. Of course we were without power for several hours and it did come back on the following afternoon. Unfortunately we lost it again last evening & we are still without it as I write this. Oh, I lied, it just came back on! Yeah, we can have a shower before we leave! The owners were wonderful through all of this - calling to check on us, bring us to our car when we could get through the melee again, and taking us to lunch at virtually the only place serving foor in the absence of electricity and water. It was very much appreciated. What an adventure we’ve had. The diving with Dive Provo was wonderful & occupied most of our days. It was our main reason for travelling to this part of the Caribbean, and we were impressed by the healthy reefs & fish life. West Caicos rocks! Thank you for creating such a lovely oasis in Acacia Villa. We will definetly return!

August 10, 2005

Our 10 day stay in Villa Acacia was fabulous. Having a home while on vacation made us feel at ease, rested and relaxed. The grill made staying in and cooking by the pool a complete pleasure! Did quite a lot of diving (Dive Provo), which was great! We also rented a skiff from Mike near the Ocean Club on the beach for 2 days - we were able te see many of the islands further away from the “conjestion” on the beach, do some snorkeling, etc. We rented a 4WD jeep that took us to NW Point beach - very secluded - we had our very own private beach! These 10 days were exactly what we needed, and expected. The villa definitely made for an enjoyable stay. Mary, Toronto, Canada Jon, Leeds, England PS Coco Bistro dinner was fab! Not in the “recommended” restos, but the garden was very nice, peaceful & romantic.

July 25, 2005

This is our first trip to the Turks and Caicos. We came to rent this house through the VRBO website. The pictures on the website were beautiful but your home is so much more beautiful once here. We love the house and the beautiful furnishings. The pool and landscape is awesome. We spent every morning out by the pool for a couple of hours and then ventured out. We ate at Gilley’s for lunch 2 days because they had a great grouper sandwich. We took the sunset cruise from the marina on the Arielle and had an awesome time. We drove from one end of the island to the other and had some beautiful views. The guys cooked out with the barbecue, steaks and the works one night for a romantic dinner. Thank you so much for allowing us to have a wonderful trip. We will definitely be back. We came here to get away from the hectic city we live in and this has definitely accomplished that. Thanks so much for everything!

May 28, 2005

Wow! What a wonderful place. The villa (so well appointed, welcoming and every comfort), the island (easy, restful, with incredible beaches - such powdery white sand and oh, the blues of the water, too many shades to name!), the wonderful 7 days of vacation (well deserved, relaxing and peaceful). Our 1st trip to Provo and we simply couldn’t have dreamed a better week if we tried!!

Shawn & Brian, Atlanta, GA Jill & Scott, Raleigh, NC

March 26, 2005

We arrived in Provo on March 17th and started our vacation near Turtle Cove in a different villa. Slightly disappointed until we arrived at Acacia a few days later. We found upscale tranquility and relaxation here coupled by the lovely decor! Enjoyed Captain Sean at J & B Tours and the conch trip with a great group of people. We ate at most of the good food places but had to say Gecko Grille was our favorite (great gnocchi), truly homemade, followed by Anacaona and Simba. This was our first trip to Provo and have to say it is now our second favorite Island in the Caribbean behind Anquilla. We plan on a repeat trip for business soon and then back again next year.

March 21, 2005

While we only had 5 days to vacation here, Acacia Villa was just the house we were looking to stay in. The villa and it’s furnishings are exceptional. I love the view from the kitchen to the pool when both doors are open! The patio chairs are similar to what we have at home, so it felt like home. And the covered patio was great for times when we needed to get out of the sun! I’ve stayed in Provo five times, the majority at Bougainvilla, but Acacia is so much nicer, cleaner. My husband loved the big TV and is hoping to come back to watch the superbowl here! Being on the canal is great. We brought a fishing pole down with us but didn’t get a chance to fish there. Played golf three of the days we were here. We hope to come back soon. The villa is just wonderful.

Sandy & Michael Danbury, CT

PS Thanks to Lynnette & Betty Dean for helping us find this.

March 6, 2005

Thank you so much for building the perfect vacation villa we’ve been searching for on Provo. Also many thanks for bringing over 2 more beach chairs and the grill!! Also thanks again to Lynnette for all her e-mails and help with our arrangements. This was our 6th trip to Provo. I’am already looking forward to next year to come back and visit the many friends we’ve made, It’s been amazing to watch the Island grow. Though I hope it doesn’t get too over built. I’m taking a lot of copies of your magazine to pass along to friends.

February 22, 2005

This has been a wonderful 2 week vacation! We have traveled and rented villas for many years and this is the best and most well appointed one we have ever stayed in. You have certainly gone to great lengths to make us comfortable. We enjoyed our 1/2 day snorkel trip on the Ariel - well worth it. The crew was beyond our expectations. Go to the Leeward Marina to reserve your trip. We only ate out for breakfast a couple of times at Gilley’s - very good & only a short walk away. The rest of the time we cooked here. Would have appreciated a grill but otherwise all went well. Bought conch and lobster from “The fish lady” Millie @ 241-9567. They would “bruise” the conch for us and we would fix it here. You couldn’t get it better anywhere. We will not forget Acacia Villa!

Bob & Pam, Leo & Pat Sycamore, Illinois

Your information book on Acacia Villa is invaluable! Thank you!

February 7, 2005

We were here 9 days leaving tomorrow. This house is terrific! It’s so great that so much attention was paid to detail to make us all very comfortable. We loved it here! We spent a lot of time at the pool - wonderful lounge furniture. Quite windy the entire time we were here so the ocean was very rough. Not good for snorkeling. Favorite restaurants: Coco Bistro, Gecko Grill, Gilley’s flounder sandwich, Da Conch Shack's cracked conch is a must and a fun place to hang out! Brunch at Provo Golf Club was very good but don’t order the Bloody Marys! We hope you’ll keep this house in the “new” shape that its in and we’ll be back. Thanks for making our vacation wonderful. Ron, John, Nancy, Betsy PS The giant TV for the Super Bowl is the best! Got pizza from Pizza Pizza. PSS We ate at Coyaba Restaurant our last dinner and it was the best we had!
